Consider the Ravens

Consider the Ravens
“Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?”
Luke 12 : 24

There have been many times in my life where I have battled with emotional and financial stress as well as feelings of being lost, confused or trapped in some way, without seeing a way forward. Dark, dark times. I am sure this is true for most of us. Yet, no matter what I have always come through the situation. At times this negative period has lasted a long while - years even, and it has felt like an endless, trying struggle, but there has always been a light at the end of the tunnel and there has always been a lesson to learn and enlightening self-growth, as a result. I have learnt that if you resist the struggle, it persists; if you fight the lesson, it stays until you are ready to learn and if you hide in the shadows of life, you can never be free to prosper and grow.

Confronting our own selves, our own fears, fallacies and negative limiting beliefs is challenging though. Throwing away ideas you have held on to or believed to be true - even those that you have felt were fundamental to who you were, is like peeling off skin that is damaged, it is painful. But if we have the courage to do these things and open our hearts and minds to change, the whole world opens and blossoms before our eyes. A new dawn is born. Miracles happen and life is good again.  I know this to be true, I have experienced it many times. From where I sit now I can look back and see how everything had its place, its lessons and timing. I may have felt alone, but in fact I was always being silently guided and supported.

My spiritual beliefs have got me through so much over the years. Without that core aspect of myself, I don’t know where I’d be. My exact practices and beliefs have evolved from an eastern perspective to Christian one, but ultimately the journey is the same - the journey home to God.

I believe God is behind the lessons, waiting for us to reach out and ask for help and be willing to learn. I believe no mater how bad things are, he is there to catch us and guide us. We may think we know what is best, but we don’t. We may think we are in control of our lives and the timing of things, but life will constantly show us that is not true. Only by surrendering and trusting can we shift things and open to the flow. Look at the lessons from nature and consider the ravens. Trust that you are loved and more valuable then even the ravens and lilies. Trust that you deserve happiness, love and to have all the material things you need. It is already all yours if you believe. You are provided for. Lack is an illusion.

If where you are at now, is not working, you can’t afford to keep holding on or thinking and acting in the same way. Throw all the old ways out - turn everything on its head. Never be afraid to change and start over completely. From ashes the phoenix is born. In time you will fly again.
