Saturday’s 6 Things

Six facts about what I have focused on this past week.
1. I have enjoyed watching:
The series, The Last Ship. As it deals with a global pandemic, it is quite interesting. Wish the real world had a Captain Tom Chandler though!
2. Favourite meal or recipe of the week:
My family had marinated Lamb Chops from Provenance Butcher and I made a divine aubergine and chickpea salad to go with it. I love Middle Eastern flavours.
3. The Bible Verse that has resonated most with:
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."
- John 15 : 4 (NKJV)
4. What I have been listening to:
Margaret Atwood’s writing class on Masterclass
5. What’s new:
I discovered the interesting Elfin Oak in Kensington Gardens.
6. A Quote/Poem I have pondered:
The Camel by James Tate
“I recieved the strangest thing in the mail
today. It's a photograph of me riding a camel
in the desert. And yet I have never ridden a
camel, or even been in a desert. I am wearing
a jellaba and a keffiyeh and I'm waving a rifle.
I have examined the photo with a magnifying
glass and it is definitely me. I can't stop
looking at the photo. I have never even dreamed
of riding a camel in the desert. The ferocity
in my eyes suggests I am fighting some kind of
holy war, that I have no fear of death. I must
hide this photo from my wife and children. They
must not know who I really am. I must not know.”
